Hello, I'm new to building and this is my build I'm having trouble getting to post:
Asus: Z87-87 Plus - MOBO
Intel: i5-4670k 4th Gen- CPU
Corsair: TX850M-PSU
Corsair: Vengeance- 2x8GB 1600HZ- Memory
Corsair: 650D- Obsidian Mid-Tower Case
Corsair: H100i-Water Cooler
Asus: GEFORCE GTX 650 Ti- Graphics card
Optical Drive- Standard from my old computer
Hard Drive- Western Digital 7200 RPM 650GB
Thermal Paste- Arctic Silver 5
Anti-static Wrist Band- RoseWill

Problem: I had a problem with this Mobo not posting. Ive tried everything. This is my second Mobo the first one I RMA'd because asus said it was defective board. Long story short it came yesterday. Ill take you step-by-step of what I did. First hooked up an anti-static wrist band to my old computer case plugged into the wall not on. Pulled the MOBO and manual out of the box. Placed the mobo onto of the box. Lifted up the CPU Metal socket up. Placed the CPU With the gold corner in the bottom left corner with the two side notches in place. Dropped it in no press whats so ever and it fitted perfectly. Laded the metal bracket down and put into place. Applied thermal paste since the old stuff on the CPU was done from the stock thermal paste that came with the CPU. Put a so so tiny amount since the H100I has thermal paste on it. Spread it around with a plastic bag. Laded the CPU fan in place. Pressed down till I heard a click then did the opposite corner and so on. Plugged the CPU fan into the CPU_Fan Header correctly. Place the memory in to the A/2 and B/2 slots for dual channel memory for what the mobo manual said. Plugged the 24 pin atx power connector to the 24 pin eatx power connector on the mobo and the 8 pin atx on the psu to the 8 pin eatx on the mobo. Plugged the power in and get a lite on the power switch on the mobo press the button nothing!. I mean not like the board had led on it and its on but nothing just faking nothing Ive tried everything . Trying to use on memory testing the memory. making sure the plugged in all the way done it all and can't get it to post. I bought all these products from newegg. Someone told my asus mobo will go through a led stream and if the led pops up but doesn't boot that where the problem is but i have no led except the power switch this happened with my other mobo could not get it to post! Ive been waiting about two weeks to get this board and about 3 months now without a computer and want this done and running.

My Question: CPU, MOBO , Memory, Or PSU which ones DOA??? IF anyone could help that be great! :D

Solution
I highly doubt you got two bad boards from Asus. And doubt its the CPU. That leaves the psu. And if this exact same problem happen on the other board, its almost a given.

So basically you aren't getting anything at all but the green led showing power to the board? Have you made sure completely sure you have your power switch connector on the right pins? The way the psu works is it detects a short between two pin's when the switch is pressed thus starting the system. If you are on the incorrect pins it will show power to the board but will not start the system.

What button are you pressing on the motherboard to power up?

I would check the connection to your on/off momentary switch on the motherboard, make sure it is on the correct 2 pins. Start with CPU, RAM, Mobo and PSU connected first to eliminate other components if that still doesnt produce then remove RAM and try again

Im strongly thinking its the psu because I dont get any leds on the mobo whats so ever except the power button this happened last time and had to wait two weeks to get a new one and a brand new one does the same thing if this happens because of the mobo asus might lose a customer

no I dont first build here. I wish I did because with asus mobo they have an led squence they would go through but i mine no led show up on the mobo im thinking its not getting power to cpu because two mobo in the row same problem not not likely to happen but could be im about to rma this psu for a refund and get me a seasonic one. The only thing that is weird is i plugged my graphic card in last time and the powersupply was giving power to the graphics card. Also this tx850m is semi-moduar so theres two cpu cords one modual and one semi i tryed a new cord and same result which is weird.

the mobo has a power switch on it this time and last time it lights up what connected to power but when i press it nothing. the lights should go through squence but nothing ive looked in almost complete darkness and nothing at all. Im guessing i hooked it up my graphics card and is shown a green light so its giving power but idk whats up with it

Some psu are automatic switching. Allowing it to determine your voltage.

Just looked yours up. Its universal/automatic in selecting correct voltage setting. If that is defective it could be your problem.

Have you tried the directkey?

Also you could go ahead and move your computer case next to the mobo and hook up the front panel switch and press it to test..

But again I doubt you received two defective motherboards.
