Hello,
I have a ASUS P8 Z77-V PRO motherboard with G.Skill 4GBx4 (16GB total RAM) F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL RAM.
I've built this machine myself about 1.5 months ago and since the day I built it I get about a 65% failure to boot and the DRAM_LED is lit on the mobo. By shutting the machine down and booting again, after 1-3 tries it will typically boot. Once booted it runs just fine and shows all 16GB of RAM. I am 100% sue the RAM I got is on the QVL for the mobo I have.
I have tried the following in efforts to resolve this problem:
Run memtest86 - Everything passes, zero errors. (despite it taking 3 times to boot to BIOS, all with DRAM lights)
Removed 2 DIMM of RAM and booted - same problem
Switched the 2 DIMM's and booted - same problem
Booted with 1 DIMM - same problem
It feels like this might be a mobo problem but I am unsure how I can determine that.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
