Hi,

I'm a student and a gamer and I just built a gaming rig but the one thing I don't want to do all the time is actually go to my desk just to play games.

Most times, I write essays on my regular laptop all the time all around the house and I have a pretty good $100+ wireless router.

With that router, Is there any way or software that I can use to stream what's on my Gaming rig/PC's screen to my smaller laptop so that I could play games and control them as well through my wireless router only?

Please leave a detailed answer/recommendation.

thanks.

You can do RDP (remote desktop protocol) to control the other PC from your other. Most RDP applications have configurable settings as far as resolution is concerned etc.
While it has improved since 1995, I wouldn't game using RDP though.

Even offered through browsers like Chrome:

etc

VPN is a virtual private network so that one network can communicate with another extending the server network to the client network.

You would be better off with a wireless KVM switch IMHO.

Only way im aware of is using a virtual network VPN. but it wouldn't be like an extra terminal and it would lag to balls. as far as I know what your asking wont work. sure you can get images to another computer but using it as if you were on the computer well that's totally different.

Yh, I may have gone too far with the control part but I guess I could use a wireless controller still connected to my PC upstairs.

I just want a way to stream 720p max or 480p minimum from my Computer Upstairs to the one downstairs through our wifi router.

I guess that isn't possible just yet.

Range of 30 ft from base station though.

It is fully possible. I'm using Teamwiewer, at first I used it to control my Desktop over internet with my Android, but I soon realised that the lag was extremely low - notghing when connected through wireless router at home. So it could then be used for gaming. I haven't found a solution for the gaming controller yet but the screen is no problem streaming in 720p and 1080 p. The 1080p was only possible when I uppgrade my router (about $300 in your currency). There are many other programs avaliable for free. Just google it. Good Luck.
