Im building a computer and i found an asus motherboard i want with 2 PCI express 2.0 x16 slots and the video card i want is a Radeon HD 7770, however it fits a PCI express 3.0 slot. I was just wondering if these 2 parts would be compatible before i buy.
thank you

They will work fine. PCIe 3 is backwards compatible with PCIe 2. Besides that, today's cards don't come close to maxing out PCIe 2, so you shouldn't even notice the difference.

And BTW, the only stupid questions are the ones you already know the answer to, but ask anyway.
