Hi

According to this :

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/crysis_3_graphics_...

my boost xfx 7950 at 925 mhz should have 48 fps, but i notice that my fps stays between 35-to 45 fps, only indoor or away from open environment do i get 60-70 fps.

if any 7950 users can share their performance with crysis it would be awesome.

system:

i5 3570k, gpu amd 7950 , windwos7 with 16 gb rams.

settings:

1920 x 1080
high resolution
system spec: high
lens flare on,
motion blur:medium
aa 16
smaa medius 2tx

thanks!

What they get may not be what you get. Background processes (things win7 has running in the background), the quality of your system components (motherboard, etc), and general health of you OS (fragmentation, condition of registry, etc) can have a huge impact on performance. It varies so much from system to system it makes charts like that kinda useless.

Okay so in a random part of the campaign where you travel through pipes (not far into the story) with your exact settings (running on a single monitor at 1680x1050, with nothing running on my other 2 screens) i got 37-64. I turned off SMAA completely and bumped up to 55-71. Then i got into a big room with lots of grass and enemies and dropped to 30-60. However i have my cpu and gpu overclocked. (Gpu core clock 1125, Memory clock 1250, Voltage 1.200 constant) With stock speeds (or boost which on my card is 925 core clock i think) i would expect what your getting. Definitely turn off SMAA.. As for multiplayer i stayed constant 60+. If you are going to overclock your card be careful with temps and this game. I have a reference cooler on my 7950 which is garbage, and even with 6 case fans running max in a cool room it still gets up to 87C after playing this game for a while. (even with fan speed set to 100%) Max temp you should have your GPU running at is 85C, above that and your probably going to start damaging the card. To put it in perspective i run BF3 on high with a resolution of 5330x1050 and gpu usage is at 100% but my card gets around 78C, bioshock infinite gets my card about the same temp as BF maxed out in eyefinity. So at least for me Crysis 3 really runs my hardware hot.

thanks for the response! sorry that I forgot to include my resolution (1920 x 1080)
so I shouldn't get my gpu higher than 85? well, crysis 3 makes my system CRAZILY hot, like never before, I thought battlefield 3 was bad, but no, my max gpu temp was 88 and cpu 78 even with liquid cooler on my cpu. (h60)

the guy from xfx told me that as long as my card doesn't go over 105 it is fine.....Im like...umm....ok.

I think the reason AMD said 85C was just to cover their own @ss, considering they never mentioned what specific cards can reach that temp. Someone on overclock.net who has 2 reference design 7950s in crossfire said temps are around 93C for the top card and 100+C for the bottom card. I was messaging him when i first got my card, and he has had those since launch, with no problems so i wouldnt worry about it. If i had to put a cap on gpu temp i would say keep it around 90C and it will have a long life. hopefully reference coolers will improve next go around, i dont understand why AMD thought 1 tiny fan in the middle of a pricey card was sufficient cooling :??:

I have the same GPU you have and I don't keep the settings high on Crysis 3 because the game is extremely demanding. I find the game runs the best on medium settings. If I'm only getting 35 to 45 fps then I tend to get killed a lot more. If I have everything completely maxed out I only get maybe 35 fps and then it can drop even lower during intense action.
