Hello,
I just lost (seemingly) almost all my 300GB size files on my 400GB hard drive after trying to convert it from fat 32 to NTFS.
I ran chckdsk before the conversion and noticed all my files were gone and all i could see where loads of files in this manner filesXXX.chk in two folders.
I bought RecoverMyFiles which was able to locate 2 ( one 500gb and 600gb) partitions of which one (600gb) contains almost all my files. But I want to be able to mount the partition. My Problem is that the partition's size is about 600GB and my drive is only 400GB, how is this possible? and what is best way to mount the partition and why are the partitions bigger than the physical drive space? and what software is best for mounting partitions?
