Win7 Home Premium 32-bit, no service packs.
Hi all.
I recently went to install SP1 for my system, but discovered that I couldn't.
It was then that I realised that Windows Update was not working.
Googling the error code led to several topics on the Microsoft forum, and the most common solution offered up was to run sfc /scannow.
I've done this in the past without any problems, but now it won't work.
The most common solution offered for THAT problem was to do a repair install, or lots of other things that you need a disc for.
I don't have a disc.
My copy of Windows was OEM, so I have several stickers on my PC, one of which says 'product key'
So my question is:
'If I use one of the ISOs from this page - http://best-windows.vlaurie.com/boot-disks.html#full - will the product key that is on the sticker on my PC be of any use to me, bearing in mind that I have no service packs installed?'
Cheers, and thanks in advance,
