Help with dell precision

I have a Dell precision with Linux running on it. I want to put Windows XP or Vista. What steps do I have to follow? Also I tried to load Xp but it saying it not recognizing the HARD Drive it runs linux. what's up?

Hi, first load your disc, restart, hit F8 while your PC is restarting to get to bios screen and change boot order so that it boots from disc. It will then say press any key to continue to boot from disc and will then format you HDD and install windows.

I did that but on my Dell 390 it's the F12 key. The process starts then it says that a Hard Drive is not present but Linux loads so it not the problem.
