Hi I just built my first gaming rig and everything was running smooth until today. So first 3 days no problems. Now my cpu load is consistently 100% and my temps are always up around 155 degrees Fahrenheit. Even when just idling. My fans are working! Wierd how the first 3 days it ran around 90 degrees fahrenheit when idling. Anyone have a clue what might of caused the drastic change and what I can possibly do to fix? almost forgot to say im getting my temps from Core Temp 1.0 RC5. Here is the build.... i5-4670k no oc. msi GeForce GTX 770 gaming video card - msi z87 gaming g-65 motherboard - Antec 100 mid tower case - Corsair tx 650 psu - 2 x 4gb Corsair Vengeance memory - Seagate Barracuda 2t 3.5" 7200rpm hard drive. Also I am only running the stock heatsink right now because the Cooler Master Germin II 3524 that I bought doesn't work on intel 1150 sockets so im in the process of getting one that does work. Any help is appreciated greatly. Thanks

ok thank you. I checked and how I seen is to put this little jumper cap on the clr_cmos pins on the motherboard and then start it up. Doing so I guess will clear everything. I will wait before doing this until I have more responses comfirming. Thanks again for the help.

That's the clear CMOS jumper, yes can try it, it will set all to factory defaults, then boot and check temps...if still up there may want to pull the cooler and reapply thermal compound (new - clean off the old), is this the stock cooler or a third party, if so what? Are all the case fans working, what's ambient (room) temp?

I figured out the problem and really is something way different. I don't know how I ended up with this program but something called FOH@core was running and it's some kind of program that uses multiple different cpu's for a protein research program. Trying to find cures for different diseases. It even said in the description that it will make your cpu run a lot hotter than normal. Once I uninstalled everything went back to normal. Very strange deal but glad I have solved that issue. Thanks to everyone who answered my call for help.
