ok I had an asus gtx560ti and have replaced it with a gigabyte gtx770.now my cpu fan is running at about 4500 rpm and is well loud, thought it was the graphics card at first but it's not.motherboard is an acer gt43t-am version 2 with an intel quad core 2.5 ghz processor.

Solution

Your CPU is working harder to "feed" the new GPU, and the faster the GPU works, it needs to be "fed" more. Therefore the CPU is working hotter causing it to be hot and loud. The 4500 RPM fan is working to cool down the CPU.
