No Signal Only On Restart

I don't know when this problem started but if I restart my computer I lose video signal. I have it disabled but the same thing happened if my computer went into sleep mode, permanent signal loss. If my computer is running it will go all day with gaming at max settings without a hiccup. If I shut down my computer and quickly turn it back on I run into a similar issue. I'm actually forced to shut down wait a while then turn it back on. I've looked into this and have yet to find a plausible solution to this. Any help would be appreciated.

If your pc a few years old it could be a weak CMOS battery. If it a newer system sounds like a bad cap in the system. I would look to see if you gave a good name brand power supply a lot of cheap power supply can fail with wieird errors. If you can try a spare power supply. If the issue still going on try clearing your CMOS and updating the bios to see if it a bios bug.

System is only ~1 year old

When I finally figured out the problem only happened on restarts I:

- updated bios to latest rev
- updated firmware for videocard
- made sure all drivers were up-to-date
- cleared CMOS and reset settings

My system is
- ASUS Maximus V Gene Mobo
- Intel i5 3750k CPU
- 8GB Ripjaw memory
- Samsung 830 SSD (main drive)
- NVidia GTX 670 2GB FTW
- Seasonic 750W PSU (gold)

I don't believe I'm using any "lower end" hardware, and considering the problem only occurs on restarts, it's very hard to trace. Since I was able to clear CMOS and enter BIOS, would you still relate to dying/bad battery?

Are there any other suggestions?

I hooked up a different monitor and everything seemed to function as expected. I restarted, it worked, I shut down and turned the computer back on, and it worked. Could this be something related to the monitor? Like I said, when the video signal is working, the computer is solid, no issues at all. I can leave the computer running for days without any issues or stability problems. It's only when I try to restart that I get the "no signal" problem.

it's one of the Yamakasi Catleap 27" monitors (cheap Korean monitor from eBay). It's performed well, but I did go ahead and order a new DVI cable. Seems like a cheap, easy solution if it's the actual problem. Once it gets here, I'll swap out the cable and do some more testing.
