Hello and good afternoon to all of the community.

As the title states im considering getting the AMD HD7770,My current system is:

Intel e5700 @ 3.0ghz
4gb ram
Nvidia gt440 1gb

I know the GPU is fairly low end isnt designed for high level gaming but it was in my price range. Now i have looked at other threads and saw that my mobo will support the hd7770 with pci express slot,My question is though will the CPU bottleneck the GPU at all?

Im not a heavy gamer mostly only play online MMO's but currently playing TERA online and my GPU just cant handle it my FPS sit around 20

So i definitely want to upgrade i do have a somewhat price range since i know i have to purchase new PSU also my current 450w has no pci power connecters for the hd7770,So i would appreciate it anyone could fill me in,as to how the hd7770 will perform on my setup and if its worth the upgrade.

Thanks alot

get an HD 7750 , it doesn't require a PCI cable an it consume only 55 watt max , and it's good for low - mid range gaming , i was running battlefield 3 with 50 FPS on Medium setting . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Btw Your CPU will bottleneck the HD 7770

TERA is heavily CPU-intensive. If Tera and other MMORPG titles are your main game, you'd better get a Core2Quad instead and just leave that GT440 for future upgrading.

+1 , Core 2 Quad Q6600 is the best option if you are looking for the Price/Performance .

The HD7770's all come with a Molex to 6pin pcie connectors assuming your PSU is up to the task. I myself own a HD7770 and even though im getting low fps with my C2D 2.4 (major bottleneck) i believe that the card won't last me very long against the next gen games. Get at least a HD7850 or a 650ti which consumes the same amount of power as the HD7770 (650ti)

If i got the Q6600 or one of the other Core 2 Quads would that be more suitable fore the HD 7770? Reason i ask i looked on my local site at the 7750 mentioned about and the price difference between the 2 is really not huge,Is there a big performance difference in the 7750 and 7770?

Yes. The HD7770 is the entry level card for Mid-High range games where as the HD7750 is a charm for old games. Wouldn't recommend either if you're planning on playing next gen games :/  650ti at the very least
