i have a buffalo 1tb hdd bought recently and 2 days back it was attacked by a virus and now the folders are seen as shortcut when i double click on any folder its displays error "windows cannot find I:/trashes\e2a38afd.pif"i hve a avast free antivirus which is uptodate ..plz help me ..thank you

What didn't work for you ? These are online virus scanner and free to use. It is to scan your computer for viruses. Did you do that ?

There are no good and free antivirus software out there. If you want a decent one than you have to pay for it. To me ESET is pretty decent and I use it personally, and its not free.

i hve kept my 1tb hardisk for scanning from last 9hrs and now its 47% and still 0 threat found..i m scanning it by this scanner http://housecall.trendmicro.com/....does it takes so much time?and after the scan is over..will all the files recover?
