Hello,

I've been having a problem which started a couple of days after after reinstalling windows 7 on my SSD (crucial m400 240GB) where the aero animations would run really slowly, for example minimizing a window would take ~twice as long as usual.
Also when this problem is occurring audio playback is choppy, and some games run very slow.

So far I've tried system restore, updating multiple drivers, disabling non-essential services, checking win7 integrity, troubleshooting aero and changing to windows classic theme. (The last solved the slow animations in windows but wouldn't stop choppy gameplay or audio)

It seems the only way to solve the problem is to restart the computer after booting, which is really annoying considering I lose one of the big benefits of using an SSD, also I dont really want to ignore the underlying problem.

The closest solution I've found was here:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/64023-63-windows-aero-problem
He had exactly the same problem but unfortunately the guy didn't specify how he solved it...

Anyways I was hoping somebody could help me solve this, If all else fails I'm going to completely reinstall windows 7 (I don't have much on the SSD), but I would be grateful if I dont have to resort to that!

Specs:
Acer Aspire V3-571G
processor: i7-3610QM 2.3GHz
graphics: Nvidia Geforce GT 640M
ram: 8GB DDR3
SSD: crucial m400 240GB

As a final note, the aero problems seem to be more of a symptom than a cause. I can solve the aero problems entirely by disabling desktop composition in the "Performance Information and tools"->"Adjust Visual Effects", but the other choppy problems still occur.

Thanks for the help :)

Just a quick update - I think I've solved it :) Ive shutdown/booted 4-5 times with no problems now, and usually its a 50/50 occurrence. Anyways for those that are interested or have the same problem heres what I did:

"
‪1.‬ Start, type cmd, right click, Run as Administrator.
‪2.‬ Type bcdedit /set useplatformclock true and press enter.
‪3.‬ Type bcdedit /enum and press enter.
‪4.‬ Verify that useplatformclock is on/true.
‪5.‬ Restart the computer.
