System Hangs when waking from sleep.

Hello all,

First let me state that I am by no means an expert when it comes to hardware, so please excuse my lack of knowledge.

A week ago I ordered the parts to build my first PC as a project with my son, and I think I have bitten off more than I can chew. Please forgive what will be a long post as I will try to provide as much info as possible, I will post full system specs at the bottom of the post to keep thinks as clean as possible.

The build went better than expected with no real issues during assembly. However since installing windows 8 we have been chasing what seemed random hangs with the OS, and video driver crashes. In the beginning there were what seemed to be random video driver crashes that windows recovers from most of the time, and full on system hangs that require a hard reset to recover from.

I am running stock speeds on everything. I have all drivers and the BIOS updated to the latest versions. The OS is installed on the SSD that is connected to the Intel SATA port. I also have two hard drives in a raid 0 connected to the Marvell controller. (Reason for this is that I plan to buy another SSD in the future to use the hyperduo feature of the motherboard.

Currently I am getting frequent video driver crashes when browsing the internet, and on a few occasions when just using windows explorer, however when waking the computer from sleep everything comes up right away, but within a 10 seconds or so the computer will have the mentioned video driver crash that recovers more times than not if the computer was only light sleep state. (front lights, fans still running ect) but if the computer is in a deep sleep state (where all the lights, fans are powered down) the computer will either freeze on the the spot or within 30 seconds of waking up.

I have run both CPU, and GPU benchmarks and temps and stability are all well within the norms from what I have read. Playing games also shows no issues, the most demanding game I own is Just Cause 2, and I am getting 60 FPS with the built in benchmark tool. Also getting great frames rates in Crysis 40+, and WoW 110+ at Max settings.

I did notice that my RAM is only running at 1600, however I purchased 1866, I don't know is that is relevant or not. I am having a hard time finding info in regards to my systems components as most of the build is using fairly new components. I have been pulling my hair out trying to get this computer stable, and would prefer to not force the computer to stay awake if possible, as I see that as more of a band-aid than a solution.

Any suggestions would be welcome at this point as I am at my wits end. Thanks in advance for any help given.
