Hi guys,

I am wondering if these two pieces of hardware would bottleneck eachother...

- CPU: Intel i5 3570k
- GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 760

I want to play games like BF3, Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, COD Ghosts... Do you think they could run games on high or ultra?

Thanks,

I don't think there will be any bottleneck. This is a well balanced pair and will max out most games @ 1080p.... ( except crysis 3...:D )

Yes there will be no bottleneck.

However why not get an i5-4670k? The i5-3570k and the i5-4670k are almost priced equally and the i5-4670k performs a tad better (about 10%) than the i5-3570k.

The performance lead of the 4670k is more or less like 5%.
Plus it costs a bit more.....consumes a bit more power @ load.....also z87 are much more expensive than z77...

Tomshardware has confirmed the performance difference is 7-13% depending on the application. Do not try to fool anyone.

The power consumption difference is marginal and makes up for it in idle. The power bill will not be anything to worry about.

z87 is not that more expensive compared to z77. it really depends what MOBOs you compare. Ofc a low-end z77 will not be anything near a high-end z87.

Difference is about 20$ at most if we look at a low-end z77 compared to a low-end z87 within the same manufacturer.
