I want to do video editing , would it be better to install my OS and Video Editing programs on the SSD drive? And then keep my source videos on the HDD? I plan on getting another SSD and/or HDD in the future but for right now I will only have the 2. And I have some externals I will use for back up and such. The editing programs I use are After Effects (CS5) and Sony Vegas and also other apps in CS5. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Exactly this, yes.
A 256 is large enough to hold the OS and a lot of applications.
