hey guys, I am replacing my motherboard in my PC, now is their any specific way to do this? or just make sure everything is turned off and disconnect from power then start removing the components to the mobo?
Yep - power down and move components. Will need new thermal paste for the cpu since you have to remove the cooler (clean it off too). If it's an identical mobo no problem with windows. If it's a different chipset it may not boot and theres a good chance windows will deactivate.

Right and then i will need a clean reinstall of windows?
If win 7 or xp and it's an oem copy from newegg or came preinstalled on a new system you might have to buy a new copy. If your mobo failed u might be able to call MS and explain - sometimes they will unlock your old copy.
