Hi everyone :)

Im looking for a headset budget of £100 sterling/$150 U.S, although if theres a budget set that will do a good job then less is better.

Its mainly for gaming possibly the odd movie. I have an old JVC microsystem that has pretty nice balanced speakers attached to my system for music, I just feel I'm missing out on surround in some games, and I dont have room for a full surround system here.

I dont play online at all, so microphone quality is not important if that makes a difference.

I'm also planning on picking up this sound card next month :http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-xonar-dx-xd-71-pci-e-soundcard-low-profile.

Is this a good choice? Reading about a bit people seem to have issues with Creative recently more specifically the drivers and software, although I have to say I never had any problems with them years ago, the Soundblaster Z OEM is about the same price as the Xonar DX on Scan.

Thanks for reading, any and all advice most welcome !

I would recommend people to go with Razer all the time as there products are excellent quality and you know what you're getting. Here's a few products which might catch your eye.

Razer Electra (No Microphone but includes a built in microphone for phone use): Razer Electra
Razer Kraken (Built in Microphone): Razer Kraken Pro

Or if you want to spend a bit more go for these:
Razer Tiamat Elite 7.1
Razer Megalodon Gaming 7.1

But in all even if you get a 5.1 instead of a 7.1 download the Razer Surround sound program it puts a 5.1 headset into a 7.1 surround sound. (From experience)
