Hi!
I've been searching for a PSU for my system for quite a wile and I still don't know which to chose, a 600W, a 700W or a 800W PSU

My specs
Intel Core i5 3570k 3.4 ghz witch i will overclock

8GB of DDR3 corsair memory

2 EVGA GTX 660 SC

ASROCK Z77 EXTREME4 INTEL Z77 SK1155

A Corsair Hydro H80i for cooling the CPU

If you guys can give me a real wattage that i will need for my system i will be pleased :)

This is what I came up with...

System Type: 1 physical CPU
Motherboard: Regular - Desktop
CPU Socket: Socket LGA 1155
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3400 MHz Ivy Bridge
CPU Utilization (TDP): 90% TDP
RAM: 2 Sticks DDR3 SDRAM
Video Card 1: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Video Card 2: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Video Type: SLI

SCSI HDD 7200 rpm: 1 HDD
DVD-RW/DVD+RW Drive: 1 Drive
USB: 1 Device
Fans
Regular: 3 Fans 120mm;
Keyboard and mouse: Yes
System Load: 90 %
Capacitor Aging (+ W %): 20 %

Minimum PSU Wattage: 485 Watts
Recommended Wattage: 535 Watts

I assumed you would have one HDD with no SSD, 1 Optical Drive, and the Capacitor Aging at 20% average meaning that you are going to hold on to the PSU for more than a year. I would invest 600W just to be safe

a c 1167 ) Power supply

For a system using two GeForce GTX 660 (non-Ti) graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 600 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 36 Amps or greater and that has at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

Now that OCZ has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection what is that 5 Year warranty worth?
