Shouldn't be a problem, if any doubt drop Noctua and/or Asus an email and ask directly
It's a little snug, but all is well. The concerns sparked by the Z87-WS entry on
Noctua's compatibility list weren't wrong. Just worded poorly:
"Possible compatibility issues with video cards that have large protruding components at the back."
By "back" I assume they mean "top". However, one never knows the amount of trouble that can spring from such inconsistencies. The note goes on to link to an FAQ entry
displaying the top of the card and the solution if there's threat of contact. This is effectively the situation with my components.
For the specific setup mentioned in the OP, the "wings" securing the fans to the heat sinks do just barely touch to top surface of the graphics card. A small amount of insulting material wrapped around the "wings" ensures no conductive contact. (e.g. electrical tape) In my case, the "wings" are touching empty areas of the gpu board anyway, the insulation is just a precaution. YMMV.
