Alright so I have an asrock z77 extreme 4 mobo with the completed set of my computer. The problem I am experiencing has a little bit to do with the BIOS.

Since I do not have an optical drive currently installed, I decided to launch windows 7 via USB, so what I did was plug my windows 7 disk into another computer and transfer all of the files to a 4gb USB and no problems were present.

When I started up my computer however, I pressed f6 to go to the instant flash page and the installation began but shortly after a screen popped up saying "No Image File Detected" and when I pressed escape, it took me to a black screen that kept saying to reboot with a proper drive. Any ideas?

Doesn't sound like the DVD is being being read. First is this a Legitamite DVD from Microsoft? Second, does the DVD come on (lights up) at all? Do you hear it spin up? Third, dont' try to 'force' the boot priority, simply use the Select Boot Device (like F12 or soemthing) then manually select the DVD when you start up.
RIGHT you need a ISO file to extract from to use the tool. Since your not reading that step, try http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Bootable-Windows-7-or-Vista-USB-Drive . If your still not able to follow these steps, I would then ask a tech friend to do it, or take it to Best Buy / etc. to pay for them to do it.

Personally I don't see why you just don't connect the DVD drive first and avoid all this backwards wise your doing. Even in a slimcase, it can accomodate a laptop 2.5mm drive.

Alright well I happened to come across an optical drive and installed it to my computer.

Now when I put the windows disc in and set my boot priority to the optical drive, it still comes out with that "reboot and select proper boot device."

I'm thinking that it's number two.. Because I don't hear a sound. Infact, when I put my motherboard cd in, it makes a sound and works so I should maybe request another disc.
