I have Bought a Desktop PC , The specifications are as under.

--Intel Core2Quad 2.4 GHz (Q6600 not sure of the version)

-- 3 GB RAM

-- Nvidia GT 440 2 GB memory (inno 3d)

-- Good SATA hard drive with adequate space

--Windows 7 64bit (direct X 11)

The problem is that i am not getting a frames per second of more than 12Fps while flying. I had heard from my friends about the processing capabilities of Core2Quad Processor. I feel like i am doomed! :(  . I had a Dell laptop with 2 GB RAM and Core i3 with a Radeon HD card. It used to run it far better!

I am sure that the problem is somewhere with the configuration or something is missing! Please help me out

Is it my windows or Direct X version that is creating the problem?

Do i need to increase my RAM

Is it something to do with the 64 bit operating system?

Do i have to install some patch to make all the cores work?

I can not believe that this quad core machine with a dedicated GPU is unable to run it as smooth as a formidable laptop used to run!

One more thing is that the reduced frame rates particularly occur over green textures where there are detailed trees (for example Bremerton / seattle area) . It is also noted that the frame rates reduce when an input is given to the aircraft for movement which suggests that it has something to do with computation.

Regards!

Your laptop may be faster. That core 2 quad is like 5 generations old and slow. The video card is old as well.
Depending on the game a new i3 will beat a Core 2 Quad by a significant margin. Some games use 2 cores, some 4 and a very small amount use more than that. Hopefully you did not pay more than a few hundred for your PC? 3 gig of ram is unlikely to be enough either. Another thing to consider is that your PC screen may be a higher resolution than your laptop screen, which means you would need a more pwerful comp to run it.
