Hi. My computer is 3 and a half years old and my motherboard recently fried so i need help deciding whether to buy a new motherboard or just upgrade the CPU, mobo and RAM. My specs are as follow:

Intel core 2 duo E8400 3.0Ghz
Asus P5G41T-m le (fried)
silverstone 500w psu (half a year old)
Gtx 550 ti (3/4 years old)
4gb ram (1333mhz)
1tb HD

A *new* lga 755 mobo will cost me around 75 dollars AU. If i upgrade, i plan on getting an fx 8320, a new compatible mobo and 8gb hyperx ram.
Im not sure which to choose because my system seems a little outdated if i buy a motherboard and since its old stock I'm afraid it may have some problems.
Also if purchasing my current choice of upgrades is enough future proofing since i am on a lower budget.

Please help me decide on this and feel free to drop any suggestions or advice. Thank you!!!!!!

It depends on what you want to do with the system.
The Core 2 Duo E8400 is a very good CPU at some tasks, but you could also just use it as an opportunity to modernise your PC if you think that it's performance is not up to scratch.
