Battlefield 3 Low FPS with HD 7870 CrossFire

Hey!
I have 2 Sapphire HD 7870, in CrossFire, not the Thaiti GPU version. So, in battlefield 3, my FPS was around 55, with one card, and the same, with two. The catalyst says, that crossfire is enabled, GPU-Z says the same, but Speccy says, it is disabled. I agree with Speccy, becouse of the low fps. Is there any solutions, for this problem, or my cards are not working correctly?
Thanks!

Do you ahve the latest ATI drivers installed? Do you have V-sync enabled? If so turn it off. you will only ever get your monitor refresh rate no matter how many cards. Try these and let me know how it goes. =)

Yes, I have the 13.6 beta, and v-sync is disabled.

Have you tried playing another game with one and two cards and seeing if there is a difference in fps there? If there is then it is probably a problem with the game. If there isnt and the FPS stays the same then it's something else. Try using the GPU-Z monitoring feature to monitor each card and see if there is a difference in usage accross both cards. B3 is well optimised for multiple cards and so is a prime test game. If the usage is different then one card is not working as hard, meaning that Crossfire is disabled. (More than likely.)

Well, in Tomb Raider, these are the results:
2 card: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d1c9jj3be6bzlbj/TombRaider%20...
1 card: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9ww76hejakyokml/TombRaider%20...
Everything is on max. Tress FX is on. In FarCry 3, my fps drops down, in every 2 seconds, with two card, but with one, it doesn't. By the way, with two cards, I can play on ultra, with fps drops. With one card, I can't, becouse it doesn't have the performance for those settings. (Motion blur) :\. My cpu is an AMD FX-8320.

Hey again! I explored something else. I play on low, cuz it's very hot, and my cpu's temp gets higher than 60 digrees on ultra. My FPS is almost the same on low, as on ultra. Only 10 FPS is the difference. So, i think, that something is with the game, isn't it? :D

The default 3,50 GH/z. BTW, I can't record the game, since I got my second card. I use Fraps, and Mirillis Action!, and both drops my FPS under 40. :\

Next week, e get a SCYTHE Mugen 3 Rev.B. cooler. Can I clock it up to 4,5 or more with this? BTW, I think, that this clock speed should be enough for these cards. I changed from an fx 8150, becouse of the CF. :D

How much clock speed do I need, for the best performance? Or sould I drop my fx in the trash, and get an i7 3970x?

No need to step up to a thousand dollar processor. Just need to clock your processor over 4Ghz. The more clock speed the better

Please explain? It was my understanding that CPU clock speed isnt so much of an issue with SLI/Crossfire? Obviously a powerful enough CPU is required, but clock speed should be irrelevant?

The clock speed shouldn't have much to do with the problem. I don't believe there should be a bottleneck here. Easy way to determine this is to look at the CPU usage and GPU usage. Are your GPU running at 99-100& when gaming and what about the CPU?

OMG!! My cpu is running around 70%, my 1st card, is 65%, and the second is 0%.. LOL My second card is off when i play Battlefield 3. Any solutions for this problem?

Now, I tried in Tomb Raider, and it is the same. Second GPU is 0%, and the otherone is 70%. But when I enable CF, I get 2x more FPS. So what now? The FPS is bigger, than without CF, but the second card is off. lol

Try swapping the cards round. It's a bit of a wierd solution but I've known it to be the propblem with ATI cards in the past.

There may be a bug that shows up like your Crossfire is enabled but really isn't, which can happen if you've updated your driver. To rule this out you will have to disable it and enable it again.

Also check if the GPU usuage is still 0 in other games.

BTW we are talking about 0% usage on the second GPU while gaming, right? Because if the system is in idle it won't be using the second GPU.

.. And you are no using more than one monitor, right?

Sorry to nit pick, but this is untrue. SLI tried to keep the usage accross both GPU's constant, which is why if in a game if the GPU usage is 50% accross all GPU's, it is classed as having an efficient SLI profile for that game. Therefore, even in windows GPU usage is the same accross all GPU's. Mine usually idle at around 3-4%.

Well, I changed the cards, and the catalyst doesn't show the crossfire option. Yes, I updated my driver, disabled, and re-enabled the crossfire, and nothing happened. But when I turned off, for the first time, after the change, the here was no signal, it restarted by itself, then everything was ok, till the login. It frozen, and I had to restart. I restarted, and now everything is fine, but there is no Crossfire option.

I changed back the cards, and when i try to enable crossfire in catalyst, and click to apply, it jumps back to disable.

No, I haven't updated those, cuz I dunno how to do it :D D. I switched tha cards back, and when I clicked on "Enable Crossfire", and hit apply, it jumped back to disabled. So I reinstalled catalyst, rebooted, and it worked. Anyways, I don't want to switch the cards again, if it's not necessary.:D

Ok you may want to update those two things. You can find what you need here: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970%20Extreme4/?cat=Downlo...
Start with the chip set driver since that is the easiest to update. You may want to google around how to update the BIOS or look in the manual.

Okay I see.. But have you tried disabling it now and enabling again? Just be sure here..

Well, the disable and re elable thing doesn't work. So I'm downloading the chipset udate for my motherboard, but the BIOS update will be a little bit harder, cuz I saw a video, where the guy used a floppy for the update. I don't have floppy disk, and floppy drive. After, I installed that thing, I'll tell you, if it worked, but I'm still downloading it. But I have no motherboard driver yet, cuz when I try to install, it shows up an error windows, and it doesn't let me to install. So I think, that this was the problem.:D  (Windows 8)

I'm talking about the disc installation. What you told me, it is an old catalyst driver installer. Anyways, I installed it, and it boosted my fps a little bit (10-5 fps). I cannot find the motherboard driver installer. I need that. Not the catalyst.
