Best CPU for MSI k9n6pgm2-v

As the title suggests, I'd like an upgrade. At the moment I am using an AMD Sempron le-1250 2.2ghz. I have heard that there are many good processors for this MB. Just looking for some advice.

you will want a completely new build altogether. the sempron is severly outdated and no matter what you put with it, its bottlenecked by the weak CPU. forget it if you are only upgrading the board

No cause it's consumes over 65 watts of power so the maximum you can go is a AMD Phenom II X2 270 wich is a dual core processor.

in other words, you essientally get less performance than a 2nd gen intel pentium chip or a amd trinity APU

Yea true but he's probably on a budget.
And it's a pretty good cpu for the price.

well you should also consider you can get a serious boost if you spend that extra bit. he is no where near where price to performance is at its peak
