I've asus p5nmx mobo,core2duo e7200 & 1 gb of ram. I want to go for HD 7770 & get an additional 2gb ram, would it bottleneck my system? p.s - i've intex 450 watt psu

Your MB has the pcie1.0 X16 or pcie1.1 X16 slot, HD7XXX is the pcie3.0 GPU, and they maybe have the compatible problem, read the interesting article: "The final answer to the controversial PCIe x16 version compatibility". http://www.overclock.net/a/the-final-answer-to-the-controversial-pcie-x16-version-compatibility

Also your 450W PSU can't handle the HD7770, but if you buy the new 500W PSU then you are fine. If you don't want to buy the new PSU you are better use the gtx650 that only requires 400W PSU also will be compatible the old MB with pcie1.0/1.1 X16.
GTX650 sepcifications: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-650/specifications

The 7770 should run on a 450 watt CPU, I've ran a 5770 on a 350 watt one and they have the same power requirements, about 100 watts at max load. The PCIe issue though could bite you, not all cards with a 2.1 and over spec will run on the 1.0 slots. PS.. your post will be moved to the appropriate forum, this is not a Windows 7 question.

I'll get a new rig instead:
AMD FX 6300
MSI 970A-G43
GSKILL RIPJAWS 2X4 GB
CORSAIR 500W
I'll get a gpu later when I get a few more bucks, till then please judge these specs.
