new to this, need some help (windows 7)

Solution
Okay so your getting a new HDD? What you can do is clone the old drive so you get the excact files on your new HDD.
And you can delete all programs by using a program called CCleaner and manually delete the programs you don't want, you can also do it in windows self but CCleaner is easier to use.

1: Find your HDD
2: Pull it out with the power cable and the Sata cable
3: Put it in your new system and connect everything just like in your old system

And do you want to delete all programs?

Yea pretty much delete everything except windows itself, I ordered a new harddrive for this build but I really don't want to pay 100$ for another copy of windows when I already have it technically, plus it takes another week to get shipped to me and I have all my parts today.. So my pc is basically useless.
So I was thinking boot from the drive with windows and save everything else possible on the new harddrive. Or if possible transfer windows to the new one, which sounds to good to be true...

The big issue you are going to have is that the old HDD will be configured for the hardware that it was originally connected to. Putting that into a new computer will force windows to try and detect the new hardware and install drivers

This approach may work but a clean install is recommended 99% time. you may get weird blue screens, crashes or freezes. I say definitely give it a go but don't count on it working.

As far as I know if the hardware changes too much (i.e. new motherboard) then as far as Windows is concerned it is a new computer and requires a new license :-/
