Which router should I use for gaming?

I currently have the WNDR4500v2, and I have some connectivity issues while gaming. Also, when I host games online, people lag from my connections. And, when I test my speed, I don't get the max speeds that my ISP offers. I have Blast Comcast with 50mb download / 10mb upload. I usually get lower than 50mb and sometimes I get more. I just want a stable connections.

Is there a router which is better than this one and is recommended for gaming? I still want 4 or more Wired Gigabit Ethernet ports
- Wireless N (802.11 a/b/g/n)
- BOTH Wireless AND wired LAN connections
- One with some form of traffic shaping or QoS (Quality-of-Service)
- Dual-Band support for 2.4GHz & 5GHz

Solution
Do you have an older modem or possibly just upgraded your service? Older DOCSIS 2 modems max out at 30Mb/s. You need a newer DOCSIS 3 modem to get faster speeds.

The router you have is a very good one, I would start with your ISP first. They always want to tell you everything is ok and not come to your home and check. Make them check your cable modem, cabling into the house from the pole. I've had the same problems with my cable company. What does the rest of your system look like? Check the firm ware on the router also.
