In almost any game released in the past year, i get horrible lag on.
Example - 20 fps on Alan Wake
10 fps on The Secret World
5-15 fps on Minecraft with Unbelievable Shaders mod

I have an intel i5 3570k which I OC sometimes
2 7959 crossfire cards
16GB Ram
1TB HDD
1000watt power supply
Windows 8 Basic

Update - here's a picture of my rig

Solution
download and install driver fusion and grab latest amd drivers.

uninstall current drivers and do not restart when prompted.
run driver fusion and clean amd drivers and restart when prompted.
install latest amd driver as custom and only instal the display driver and hdmi audio driver.
to enable crossfire download and run radeonpro. it is much better and causes less problems than catalyst control centre, you can also do many more tweaks with it.

Ok. Attempting - will update when done.

radeon pro has some really nice features that can improve gameplay like dynamic frame control where you can limit your fps to the monitors refresh rate so it eliminates tearing (i set it to 1 fps less than refresh and enable vsync in the game since it eliminates input latency with vsync and stops tearing completely in most games), also can enable an on screen display to show info about your cards like temp and fps etc and a load more.

another good tweak is to change something called the frame flip queue in the driver which can reduce latency and stuttering in crossfire.

i normally set flip queue to 1 since i have a single card but in a multi card situation set it to the number for as many gpu's you have in your system so 2 for 2 4 for 4 or 4 for 2 dual cared.

i tend to setup individual profiles for games since some games dont like certain settings and you can also setup options for forcing MSAA when a game does not support it.

It says I have to buy premium to delete all the entries in my AMD driver. Ignore it?

yeah just ignore that, it will work fine.[/quotemsg]
Now just downloading drivers... Is it my components (which are pretty good and meet pretty much every game's reccomended requirement) that are faulty or my drivers? Or is it the games fault?

a lot of problems can occur from drivers becoming corrupt and between driver updates from files being left over, using driver fusion to properly clean the drivers away leaves a nice clean slate to rule out drivers as a problem and is good practice when updating drivers.

I did it. Now what do i do on RadeonPro? An odd thing is that i can't access my BIOS or enable Crossfire if i plug my monitor or HDMI cable into the i/o panel, it has to be on my graphics card directly. Which then screws up games so i have to put the HDMI back up.

Everything is greyed out...

yes you need to have your monitor plugged into the primary graphics card for crossfire or even your graphics cards to work, if you were plugging into the motherboard then you would not even have been using your graphics cards at all but the integrated graphics on your i5 3570k

Does RadeonPro auto-enable crossfire?

What? So crossfire will not be enabled anymore? ;(
Shut it down. Now time to operate on it and wait for further instructions. By the way, thank you :)
