Okay so I'm getting ready to build out a new machine, and i wana build out a nice one.. i haven't build a new machine in quite a few years but its now time.... so i would like the input from all yall here... i will be getting back into gaming but i dont wana go out and blow 10 grand either.... but i also dont mind spending some good change on a good PC that is going to last me....

so im looking for opinions on what type of mobo, proceccor(AMD? or Intel? model? , ram, hard drive, pretty much the full works..... also not to sure how much firewire is still used these days but i have a live studio recording music interface that uses firewire and i no longer have a good machine to run it and i would like to be able to run it as well

i dont wana start a battle between anyone like ford or chevy lol but i would like to hear the pros and cons on all the hardware... i know i have read about the i5 being better for gaming over the i7 but hey im open to it all. just wana have one heck of a bad machine that ill never run into a lag issue lol so fire away if you could please..
all input will be greatly appreciated

thanks. my advice here would only be valid for a week as prices will change every week and so do components

if you would like a sound card, id suggest a asus dg 5.1 or a dx 7.1. if you want the best, id suggest a asus essence stx sound card for that but it will run you more money. as a heads up, this build can certainly be cheaper if you are not to overclock

what do ya mean build a template? i mostly need to know what processor is gona be the best for me and which mother board will be best and a GPU as well.... as for firewire i was kinda figuring i would need a separate card for it which im 100% ok with

Well i can certainly understand prices changing around but it gives me a good ball park number and i do appreciate it! Also overclocking is not a MUST for me just something i had thought about. also might i ask why you recommend Radeon over nVidia video card? i only ask because all i have ever had was nVidia so i dont know much on the others. Thanks!
