I was looking at getting a haswell or ib i5 but the savings for a few fps on a fx 6350 seem to outway the extra £80 on an intel processor + the extra cost of the mobo. I can get a fx 6350 for 100. i5 ib 165 or hw 180. I will be using a 7970! Any significant bottleneck. will i be fine playing arma 3 on high?

It might bottleneck games on medium or low settings, if you're shooting for ~80+fps, because the cpu workload doesn't change much with different graphics settings. But yeah, you're good.
