Hi,

I am looking to buy a good quality 2D monitor. And i only have the following options..

Samsung sa950 and AOC I2757fh..

I know that Samsung model also supports 3D. But it is not a Hugh concern for me because most of the time i will be using 2D.. And also i know that AOC monitor is a IPS monitor. But still reviews say that Samsung monitor has great color reproduction.

So I still cannot decide between these two. Does anyone has experience using these monitors?? If so please help me..

Following links provide some reviews for both of these monitors.

Haha nope. Doesn't work like that. It would be like asking if a high speed hard disk can outperform a budget SSD. SSDs as a whole are in a different league of performance to hard disks. Even the most basic SSD will be a major improvement over the fastest 10,000rpm hard disk.

Similarly, any IPS panel will beat TN quality. I expect what the reviews meant about panel quality (since ALL IPS panels are manufactured by LG) was that 1080p is a lower resolution than is standard for 27". Usually you'd expect 1440p at that size. My advice would be to buy a 23"er and get something really excellent quality. Also use tftcentral.co.uk for professional reviews - the web is chock full of crap reviews of monitors. Very few of a genuinely high...

Looks like there's more on the topic of monitors in this thread than the peripherals one so nevermind!

The thing is AOC monitor is referred as a low cost IPS monitor with fair amount of quality.. According to the reviews, it cannot compete with good quality IPS monitors. If it could, i would have chosen that one.

SO i think a very good quality TN screen could surpass the AOC. But i do not know that. that is what i want to know.

thanks for your reply..

Unfortunately my options are limited to very few monitors.

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/aoc_i2757fm.htm

This is the review of AOC monitor from the site you mentioned.. unfortunately i could not find a review for the Samsung model from them.. If you have time, look at this and let me know what you think..

But still i must say that samsung sa950 had some great reviews about its 2D image quality. I could not find a single bad review (but they said that 3D quality is not that good. but it deos not concern me)...

If both of them has the same price tag ill definitely go for the Samsung. But it cost about twice the price of AOC :(..

Since i will bepaying lot for them, i dont want to waste it.
