How many power cables for the HD 7850?

I just tried leaving only one in it, and neither of my monitors would come up. I'm honestly not sure why it doesnt work with only one 6 pin cable in it, but it works with both cables plugged in (which would mean 12 pins of power for one card).

The main reason I'm asking is because I'm going to buy a second 7850 for crossfire.

I have a 700 W PSU so it's enough power, but I just dont know if I have enough power cables or if I will just need to buy a molex to PCI-E.

ah i have the exact same one haha, and had the same problem. was limited to doing 660's in sli rather than anything better.

it should be able to handle it. might want someone who knows more about power supplies to answer more definitely, but i had 2 660s running off of that power supply for months with no problems.
