My AMD motherboard recently gave up the ghost, so I decided that I would like to build my own computer. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about hardware terminology and specs, so go easy on me.
My question: I've determined that for my build, a Quad Core CPU/Processor is best for what I intend to use the PC for. Currently, I am comparing the i5-3350P and the i5-3330, but I am having trouble determining best value for price.
The i5-3350P has no on-board graphic chipset and runs at a slightly higher frequency of 3.1GHz (3.3 Turbo), while the i5-3330 runs lower at 3.0GHz (3.2 Turbo), has a chipset, but is $10 more expensive.
I am on a budget, which means that $10 is important. I would like to know which CPU model do you think is the better option re: overall performance for price?
A note: I don't know anything about overclocking or Turbo settings or how they affect performance, so I'm basically shopping by WYSIWYG.
I also hope to salvage the graphics card out of my old system, but as I have no idea if it will work with the motherboard I'm getting (or if it's better/worse than an onboard chipset would be) I'm not sure if it would affect the calculations here.
Thanks in advance.
