Hello all,
I have a very limited background with computers. I can work with them to the extent of figuring out basic problems that my peers cannot. However I am largely lost to the actual technical of computers.
The other day I ordered a caddy for an HDD that I could install in my ASUS K55VD's optical disc driver area to replace the disc reader and act as a second hard drive since my computer is running out of storage and I am sick of connecting an external hard drive that can fall off my lap or something since I mainly use it during my hour and a half commute to work on a train. After installing the caddy with a hard drive that already contains quite a few of my files since it was my primary backup the disc drive has not shown up on my computer. I know that this is not a technically sound way to decide if the connection was severed or not made but I can hear the second hard drive spinning and powering up when the laptop is on. I have already tried Device Manager, Computer Management and most of the easy options that someone like me would know how to access. I was wondering if anyone had any solutions to my issue since I am getting very tired of wandering through countless forums and blogs for answers. Anything would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
