I figured I would seek advice before buying another psu. After I upgraded an old system, all of the fans turn on for a split second and then turn off. I think it might be the power supply being a little low wattage.
Specs:
Corsair cx 600w
Asus m4a78 board
Amd phenom quad core (am3)
4gd gskill ddr2 1066 (2x2gb)
Radeon 4870
All I replaced in the upgrade was a dual core phenom and an old heatsink. The motherboard shows the led that the psu is working and stays on after the shutdown. After, pressing the power button does nothing to the system, not even the fans come on. My guess would be the power supply is too low wattage for the CPU, but I don't know how high to go.
All help is greatly appreciated.
