Hey guys I'm looking for a super cheap system to use when I travel on a HDTV. It will need HDMI and doesn't need to run much more than Facebook and YouTube I don't want a laptop due to the fact that when I'm home I want to be able to use it as a better system when I drop in a 7870 from my main rig or later on want to upgrade to a 650 permanently for it. I need help I'm leaving in 12 days. I just want a cheap build like a AMD APU. I will be using Linux.

Solution
Sounds like a micro ATX or mini ITX build with one of those tiny cases with handles on it, maybe.

I was thinking a case like
Fractal Design Node 304 mITX - $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352027
or
BitFenix Prodigy Midnight Black, I like this one more, it has handles -$90
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811345016

Build list

Motherboard
ASRock FM2A75M-ITX R2.0 FM2 AMD A75= $85
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157363

or
MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 FM2 AMD A75 =$90
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130664

power supply=SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold= $120 (curently on sale, 33% off, its a steal)...

Memory- CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600, low profile = $71
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233196

APU-AMD A8-6600K Richland 3.9GHz Socket FM2 100W-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113333

or the cheapest apu I would consider -AMD A6-6400K Richland 3.9GHz Socket FM2 65W- $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113335

HDD- Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -$60
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148767

DVD /CD drive- ASUS 24X DVD Burner -$20
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204

It should total about $520-$600. you could down grade the ram I selected or put in a Corsair HX650 psu, it would be even cheaper but still of good quality. You could add an after market cpu heat sink later.

Hope this helps.
