So i OCed my 3570k with AI Suite II. One day (Last week) I noticed my Voltage was at 1.405 V. I checked CPU-Z and indeed it WAS 1.405 V. Why is that? Is it my chip or is something wrong?

Solution

Ahhhh... still too hot. As far as I know, 60c is a danger zone. Turn the voltage down, you should be able to OC that bad boy without upping the voltage beyond 1.3-1.32 or so.

Edit: You may not have to up the voltage at all...

My question is why would you use software to OC? Use the BIOS. To answer your question, chips vary as far as what voltage comes "stock." You could say each CPU has it's own "operating voltage." Yours, while on the high side at 1.405, may be stable there if it's still cool. What are your temps?

+1 (Let's play the +1 game :) ) My post kind of makes it sound like your CPU came with a "stock" voltage of 1.405. This is not what I meant.

While running Cinebench my temps were 65-70C. Oh and I cant use my BIOS cause the resolution is messed up. Like, its WAAAYYY larger than it's suppost to be

That's much too hot. You need to clear your CMOS and start over. OC through the BIOS if you're going to do it at all. It's the only way to be safe.

What? OP 60C is NOT the danger zone. 90C is the danger zone. The chip will throttle itself at 100C
