My build so far. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1eHp5
All I need is a GPU that is under 500 bucks. I want to be able to play games at Ultra to High settings for the next three years (after 3 years I will upgrade). I am thinking about getting 2 760 and sli because this out performs the 780, 770,7970. Is there a bad side to sli? My last option is to wait a few months till the AMDs 9000 series comes out. Even if I decide not to go with the 9000 series nvidia will probably drop its prices on the 700 series right?
Lmk what you guys would do.

I don't think it's broken... not like xfire (which IS broken). I think a number of those problems are problems you'll always have with multiple gpus. I suspect the microstutter issue may be figured out down the road... but then this is a problem that's plagued multiple gpu setups since SLi/xfire first came out and they still don't have it beat.

Which brand do you suggest? I know the the EVGA won't have better fps over an Asus but which brand has the best warranty, customer support, ect...
And should I go with the 4gb card for 50 dollars more?
Will this GPU run most games at High settings three years from now?

there are a few bad sides to SLi

1) microstutter is very real. look it up on youtube, and check it out to see if you can live with that in every title you play
2) some games are not compatible with SLi
3) most Dx9 titles simply don't work (or work poorly) with SLi
4) Temp, Noise, & Power Consumption are all high in this type of setup.
5) SLi doesn't share Vram. If your card has 2gb, and the other has 2gb, your combined available gpu ram is NOT 4gb, but 2GB. In short all the stuff loaded into vram on one card is perfectly mirrored onto the other. The result is your card will certainly be more Ram limited then a high end gpu with more actual ram on it's board.

Ok that's good to know lol. Do you see a fix for sli in the near future(1-3 years)?
