$1,700 or less gaming build

to be honest haswell cpus are just as good as a 3570k if not better and the z87 mobos offer more, so it's your choice to go 3570k or 4670k but i'm just saying there is no reason to not go with haswell everyone building a new build is using a haswell cpu.

I have been hearing bad things about Haswell, so I'm just sticking to everyone else's opinion and going with an oc'd 3570k to 4.5ghz.

-Better quality board.
-Cheaper RAM.
-Cheaper SSD, Plextor is still a good brand.
-Better case and gpu, the GTX 770 should wreck every game at 1080p.

you're still tons under your budget. There's some things you can do to improve your build:
-Spend an extra ~$50 for the new LGA 1150 Haswell processor and motherboard. It's newer and more current.
-Bigger SSD, if you feel like you want to put more on it.
-A new monitor.
-High-end cpu cooler.
