Hey guys, I originally posted a thread in the home audio forum, but thought id link it here as it turns out to be more PC based.

Basically ive got a surround sound system hooked up to my TV and I want to send signal from my PC to the tv to be played through the surround system.

At the moment im using the HDMI output of my radeon HD 6850, which i've figured out is only capable of sending 2 channels of audio, and am looking for a possible solution!

To save myself repeating a lot, the link to the old thread is http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1727694/troubleshooting-surround-sound-setup.html

Thanks for any help!

Solution
Depending on the connections that your surround uses and how many speakers it has, (3.1, 5.1, 7.1 etc.) you could always pick yourself up a sound card to install in your PC which would then play sound through the surround, and the HDMI would be the display. =)
