Greetings, I'm looking for a good, cheap gaming PC priced between 600-1000 NZD. I also want to do a small amount of editing with Vegas Pro and AE. I want this system to be able to run on the latest games on medium-high settings on a 1080p resolution without any problems. Also could you recommend me a nice, cheap 1080p HD monitor for me as I don't have one. Preferably with built in sound.

Thanks, Gerouk :)

P.S I already have an OS, Windows 7 Ultimate :D

For 1000 NZD you cannot get anything better than this. The parts are very expensive at your country :

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($148.34 @ PB Technologies)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory ($96.18 @ Aquila Technology)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($97.00 @ Paradigm PCs)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB Video Card ($209.95 @ Computer Lounge)
Case: BitFenix Merc Alpha (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($79.00 @ PC Force)
Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($159.00 @ Paradigm PCs)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224BB DVD/CD Writer ($40.00 @ PC Force)
Total: $1000.47
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

If you think that the answer helped, then don't forget to select it as the best answer. It would be highly appreciated by me and would help me get better rank in the forums.

Why do you want a better rank? I'm just curious :-)

The more best answers get selected the new badges i would be able to get.
It is more of a hobby and fun thing for me. It is like a game for me, it is like a game for any geek. I like suggesting people good builds and it is the stuff i do in most of my free time.

There are many people like me in this forum, who do this stuff just for fun. You know what i mean. :D

There is definitely satisfaction in steering somebody towards excellent choices in hardware :-) I mainly got on here because there's nothing to do at work! Same for you?

I am a student, i come here when i get spare time, even though it is quite rare in high school. The studies in India is not easy, especially studying for Engineering and why not.. India has got the world's best engineers in the whole world. So definitely there is a lot of competition.

Coming to this forum is like freshening up your mind with all the other things of the world. Just hardware, you know some people love it. Someone like me.. :)

That doesn't seem to square with your signature comment? Certainly there is great value in variety in life :-)

The problem here is that not everyone is in tech here, but they are more into studying Mechanical Engineering. Though there are a lot guys who are actually into things like this, but they are quite rare to find. Same with every other country there. There are geeks but they are always less in number.

But yeah, there are a lot of good Engineers out here.

I shouldn't have thought engineer = geek then :-) This is good for you though! The rarer a skill is, the more people will pay for that skill.
