Hello everyone,

I really would enjoy if someone could help work through this problem with me.

I recently formatted my C Drive due to virus' and deleted my windows.old folder, so I had wiped everything previous and was stupid enough to lose my CDs that came with my computer but after browsing for my drivers for my motherboard (GA-880GA-UD3H) and graphics card (MSI Radeon 6870 Twin Frozr II) I seemed to of ran into a specific problem, my motherboard would not allow me to identify my graphics card via programs like EasyRune6 and CPU-Z, unsure of the malfunction being on the software's side or mine, i go to test a couple of games, I ran League of Legends and normally i max the game with 60fps, in this case, i test out with all the settings at Very High, out of any combat I seemed fine, but when close to combat (even hovering over it) i get down to 2fps. I downloaded Borderlands 2 as well and try to run that, I get a flicker when i press Esc to go to the pause menu, and if i leave the program running (visually, not minimized) it flickers again until closed.

Previous History: I have had this computer since January of 2011, all parts listed below were not having any performance issues until after the format.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
Mobo: GA-880GA-UD3H by Gigabyte
Ram: 8GB of DDR3 (Corsair Vengeance 4x2)
GPU: Radeon 6870 (Twin Frozr II by MSI)
750W Power Supply
Windows 7 Home Premium

If possible a step by step process might help me too, id rather go over everything instead of overlooking specific things.

Solution
On a clean format of hard drive...install the os...then go to intel or amd and install the newest chipset driver for the mb. Reboot then go back into windows device manager if the chipset drivers are installed a standard VGA card will be there. Amd auto detect may work at this time. If not you have to scroll and chose the right gpu driver for your video card. Run the install for the driver then reboot. When windows starts in windows device manger should now be your video card.

Alright, so i deleted my Display adapters and installed the chipset for my MoBo, after that i used amd autodetect and installed that, my Display adapters shows up as AMD Radeon HD 6800, but this leaves me at the exact same problem as before, the games i am trying to run continue to have the same problems (heavy frame drop on a lower demanding game [League of Legends] and Flickering on Borderlands 2.
