Hi there everyone, I'm hoping I can receive help me with this problem I have with an Acer Aspire X3200.

Basically, when it starts up, the monitor displays the message 'cable not connected' and I suddenly noticed that it doesn't beep on start up as it should. The fan goes spins as normal and the power light is showing as on.

From reading various threads prior to joining, I'm guessing it could be a graphics card problem, or worse, a motherboard problem or perhaps a cable problem. It was working only recently. If I remember correctly, I had tried one graphics cable with the monitor but that didn't work. Then I tried another and that worked. Now no cables work. Cananyone offer some guidance on this. Thank you.

I took it apart and gave it a good clean reseated the battery and memory, took the heatsink out and then put it back in. It now works - but how long? Could you define what you mean by 'PSU is failing?'
