I was wondering, when gaming does your computer use both the integrated graphics on the CPU and your dedicated video on your GPU at the same time? just wondering because I just put together my first pc and it has the i5 3570k and an AMD radeon 6870.

If you installed Virtu MVP it will. The thing is that won't really give you more fps. It's basically a really complicated way to impliment vsync.

But as far as using them together to get more FPS, no. AMD APUs like their A10 can do that with select AMD graphics cards but it is still not that powerful.

honestly, the intel integrated graphics are pretty bad for gaming so you wouldn't see any help there. running both graphics tends to be the best on laptaps in my opinion. My gf has an a10 laptop with a lower end 7670m graphics card. I haven't done separate tests however to see how much of an increase it is.

since your graphics card is a pretty decent one, you wouldn't find any help with running the i3's graphics in tandem

It doesn't work that way with an Intel igpu. It does NOT add performance.
