Current machine:
------------------------
CPU: Intel i7-920
MoBo: Dell XPS x58 chipset board
GPU: Nvidia 560-Ti
OS Drive: 500gb SATA II (7200 rpm)
Storage Drive: Samsung 1TB 7200 rpm SATA 3.0gb/s
Memory: G-skill 12gb DDR3 1600
Power Supply: Dell XPS 730 1000w

Over the past year I have upgraded the GPU, Memory, and added a Storage Drive.

I am looking to upgrade the CPU, MoBo, Power Supply, Case.

Here is what I have chosen so far, I am still in need of a power supply so any help with that would be great. Also any advice on the upgrading parts would be great as well.

1. At this budget specs are good. You use same psu. It is really a lot of power.
2. This pc will...
Is your PSU giving you issues? Because that's a ton of power that you don't need already, and Dell usually makes good units.

Good call on the mobo/CPU/HSF, but you'll need to make sure you're using your RAM in pairs, becuase the Z77 only uses dual-channel vs. triple channel on your x58. And you'll only be handling 4 threads vs. the 8 you have been with that i7.

IMO, you'll do better just overclocking your current CPU with adding that CM Hyper212 and buying a GTX 760 if you're upgrading for gaming.

Updated for price, around $500 or less. It would be good to keep the Power Supply if I could, that would definitely take off some money from it.

Right now I do a bit of gaming and the GPU seems to hold out well. I just upgraded that last fall so seems a little soon to upgrade it again. Right now while playing Guild Wars 2 my CPU has been hitting about 60% usage, I figured an upgrade of the CPU couldn't hurt.

But really if the current specs seem good for another half of year or year I could always wait until the spring to upgrade. I am in no real rush to upgrade, so if things seem good I could just keep them the way they are.

2. This pc will work in next half year. No problem.

What resolution are you playing at? Less demanding games like GW2 and other MMOs will play fine on that GPU. I'd definitely look into overclocking your current CPU with a new HSF, it should come pretty close to a new i5.
