Hello,

Here's my config:

Processor: Intel i7 980X

RAM: Corsair XMS3 24GB

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 (rev. 2.0)

OS: Windows 8

Now, here's the config of the hard drives:

1 x 120GB SSD

2 x 1 TB WD Black (RAID 0) The setup in question.

2 x 500GB (RAID 0)

1 x 2TB

1 x 3TB

The RAID setup that I have highlighted is using the Marvell RAID controller ports on my mobo. I have it formatted to one big 2TB drive.

Now, coming to the problems"

1. Occasionally, when i boot up my computer, I don't see the drive in the explorer nor in Disk Management. I install the Marvell Raid Utility Drivers and only then can I see / use the drive again. I install with administrator privileges. This does not happen every time i boot up.

2. The drive freezes up occasionally and all read / write operations to the disk are frozen for a few minutes after which it starts again.

I've learnt to work with these problems, but i'd rather they didn't happen at all. Anyone have any ideas? I'd really appreciate any help.

Solution
As I know that maybe caused by marvell controller driver problem. You can Google it you will know.

From the manual, there are 6 of intel STATII ports ( 0-5) and 2 of the GA SATATII ports (GSATA8/9). You can use the GA-SATA ports for the 2 x 1 TB WD Black (RAID 0). The rest SSD, HDD, DVD into the intel sata ports.
