So I just got a new laptop, an avatar mercury 14" ultrabook to be precise. Firstly, I should say that when it came, they had windows 8 installed on the hdd and were using the ssd for caching. (Hdd=500gb/SSD=32gb) so I formatted them both and installed win 7 to the ssd, but when I went to "computer" after it was installed, it only showed the C: drive. However, when I went to system properties, in storage, it showed the hdd as being there. So I uninstalled windows again and put it on the hdd this time. After it was installed, I checked, and it showed the C: drive along with the ssd as E: or something. So in confused, how come it doesn't show my hdd when the os is installed on the ssd?

Solution
You should never install windows onto an SSD while the HDD is attached.Make sure AHCI mode is also being used.32 gb is to small for a windows install , minimum should be 64 gb SSD.

Ok, so if I shouldn't put it on the ssd, how should I set it up? Thanks for replying!
