Overall I'm just looking for some help on where to get started in building my pc and what parts I could get for this kind of money to make an awesome gaming rig. I was just wondering if anyone could help me figure out all the parts I could get for this much or how much I actually need to spend.

Any help is better than none!

What are you planning to do with this compuer?
Best gaming performance w/video editing

What is your budget?
Around $1500

Does this include a copy of Windows? No OS needed

Are you from the United States or a different country? Are you ordering from your own country or from across borders? Yes I am from the United States so I would get all the parts I need here.

If you are from the United States, do you live nearby a Microcenter?
No the closest store would be a best buy, looking for a online site to buy off of.

Do you have any specific requests with the build?
i7-3770k.

Do you plan on overclocking? If yes, do you have a specific goal in mind?
Yes around 4.5

Would you prefer the build to be particularly small?
Not worried about space

Would you prefer the build to be particularly quiet?
I dont want it to be super loud, but i do want it to be pretty quiet.

In general, do you prefer this to be a computer that you can spend money on now and let it rest, or a box built for continuous upgrading?
I'm not really sure what is the best option for this

Prefer a Nvidia GPU

Solution

I deviated in that I got a Haswell processor instead of Ivy, and went for a 7970 instead of the equivalent Nvidia. Right now, I think a 7970 is a better option at that price-point.

Solution
I have seen you asking for multiple builds , why do you ask ? anyways I would agree with manofchalk's build , except for swapping the SSD with a 840Pro as for editing , you may prefer a fast performing SSD. And change the case to NZXT Phantomn.

Reason I have asked for multiple builds is that I already have built mine and I have friends/family who are looking to upgrade their builds and I go and get them opinions on build then will get the parts and build it for them. And with that build I stated that I am not near a micro center and more than a few parts have been listed from them which is why his build matches my requirements. And the gpu is not a nvidia gpu which I also requested
